Strange New Worlds

I found a bunch of old renders of an Enterprise I modeled 8+ years ago and felt like giving some of them a background.

The colorful first one was a bit of an experiment.
I used AI (Midjourney) to generate a space background but didn't like any of the upscaled versions (nebulas didn't look like nebulas anymore) so I took the low res versions and upscaled them with Gigapixel.
Then I blended the best elements of the 4 small variants into 1 in PS and blended some planets I found online on top of the AI generated ones (because you couldn't tell whether they were planets or deformed donutses).
Added the enterprise render, some 80s star FX and some filters to blend the mess together.

The other 2 images use a background I slapped together from old projects.

I've been in some sort of retro mood lately but I can't quite put my finger on what I was aiming for.

Enterprise was modeled and rendered in Modo.
